Ramsbottom travelled to the MyProtein Turf Moor on Saturday to take on Burnley 3XI in the final group game.
Burnley won the toss and decided to bat on a green seamer and were in early trouble as the dangerous youngster Zore
was caught at first slip by Parkinson off the bowling of Jake Walker.
A tight spell of bowling followed from Walker & Storey before Abbas crashed two boundaries going over the top and assisted by Molloy
took the home side innings to 40 before another lofted drive found Kenyon at long on off the bowling of Doyle,Abbas gone for 21.
Doyle stuck again soon after as Molloy was caught at point by Lee for 19 with the score 48-3.
With two new batters at the crease Tomlinson and Johnstone began to repair the innings with Tomlinson in perticular the aggressor
hitting a six and 6 fours on his way to a fine 44 before falling to the same fate as Abbas caught at Long On by Kenyon this time from
the bowling of Collinge and was quickly followed by Johnstone caught at slip by Storey off C Round for 19.
A flurry of quick wickets saw Broadhurst and Skipper Sutcliffe both bowled by Collinge for 2 & 1 respectively and a sharp run out by
Parkinson sent Shahid back for 8 , then Metcalfe caught by Storey off Ed Lees first delivery for 5 and Burnley were 135-9.
An excellent last stand from the experienced Whittle and Youngster Ella Harrison, who played some fine shots and respectability was
restored to the innings before the returning Storey bowled Whittle for 14 leaving Harrison unbeaten on 19* to close the innings
on 175 all out.
Collinge the pick of the Ramsbottom bowlers with 3-28.
Following a short interval of Burnleys fine hospitality and a quick viewing of Indias demise at the hands of Bairstow and Co
Ramsbottom Openers Ben Wilkinson and Nick Round took to the field to begin the innings.
Some early wayward bowling from the home side saw Wilkinson take full advantage dispatching early boundaries and despite several
bowling changes from Skipper Sutcliffe both openers cashed in and raced into the 40s.
The dropped catch of Wilkinson on 48 summed up the day for the home side and they were made to pay as Wilkinson reached a fine half century
until finally being caught by Sutcliffe off the bowling of Abbas for 70 including eleven fours off 68 balls.
At the other end another faultless display from Nick Round also produced another half century for the inform batsman
and the away side were in full control as Ben Parkinson crashed a quickfire 22 off 12 balls with 3 fours and a 6 before being run out with
the score on 134-2.
The returning Collinge from a midseason break in the mediterranean joined Nick and continued to chip away at the total required but with
just 3 runs required Collinge fell to the bowling of Metcalfe for 11.
But the damage was done and it was left to Nick Round to finish off the innings with a cover drive for 4 and another superb innings of
70 not out off 62 balls including 9 fours.
This concludes the Group C games with Ramsbottom topping the table amassing 132 points with 11 wins from 12 games.
